About Us
Happy Children, Proud Parents, and Caring Teachers!
Philosophy
Little Miracles Daycare & Learning Academy, hereafter referred to as the Academy, is concerned about developmental needs as education of infants, preschoolers, and kindergartners. The center realizes physical, social, cognitive, and language development may not occur at the same rate in all children. For example, the child that is cognitively advanced may be delayed in social-emotional development. The staff is concerned with development of the whole child.
There is no single theory of a child development that explains all aspects of development. Therefore, the predominant theories in all major areas of development adhere to the philosophy. The best approach for children and their parents is one that provides successful experiences for children, parents, and staff. The principle of early childhood education adopted by the Academy is a collaboration of developmentally appropriate practices in the field. The concept of prepared environment is derived from the Creative Curriculum, renowned theorist of child development. As a guide to children’s learning, the teacher urges and supports but does not force children toward learning caregivers that provide the child with a sense of security and enjoyment of social exchange, promote sense of self-worth, and a secure attachment relationship with one or two caregivers. This type of relationship is valued and practiced here.
